I think that the parents in this story should have given the writer more common names, like Ben Brown, Zack Brown or Dan Brown, instead of Electra Brown. They should have considered more carefully before choosing their son’s name.
I also think that they should not follow other people to use places’ names as their son’s name or daughter’s name. They should name their sons using their own ways or methods.
I also think that some of the names were very funny like Jasmine, Sorrel and Basil. All these names were named after herbs. Maybe their mother liked herbs a lot.
In the last paragraph, I still cannot understand why the writer’s dad was leaving. The writer should have specifically told the readers why his dad was leaving.

I think that when parents give their children a name, they should think about when their children grow up, will their name embarrassed them or being made fun of, especially when the children are in school. If there is really a law to allow children to change their names if they do not like the name their parents gave them. I think tere should be a rule to say that they are only allowed to change their names when they are a teenager. When a child has become a teenager, he or she will start to think about their future and now, whether their names would be made fun of when they are in school or when they grow up.
The writer is being named Electra Brown by her parents. I think that she does not like the name that her parents had given her. Her parents should not have named her the same way her aunt has named her cousin. They did not think about when the writer grows up, will she be made fun of or teased. Now, the writer is being made fun of by some boys in school. When she has a nickname, the boys also teased her.
We should not teased others or make fun of their names even though how weird or funny their names are. Before we make fun of others, we should think about how the other person would feel. If others teased us, will we like it? We should always spare a thought of others.
